DEMOCRATIZE ACCESS TO
COMPOSTING AND URBAN GARDENING
Our vision
Recovering 17,000 tonnes of biowaste per year to green our cities by 2028
Since January 1, 2024, under the AGEC law, sorting biowaste has been compulsory for everyone, and is the responsibility of local authorities. In France, residual household waste contains one-third biowaste, i.e. 83 kg per year per inhabitant. Mixed with residual household waste, bio-waste is then sent for incineration or landfill.
In all, 5.5 million tonnes of biowaste are incinerated or landfilled every year, instead of being composted and recycled. And it's worth remembering that, on average, one tonne of biowaste incinerated represents one tonne of CO2 emitted! The environmental impact is colossal.
The challenge is therefore to remove bio-waste from residual waste bins, firstly by reducing it, and secondly by enabling
the sorting at source of waste that cannot be avoided. While 2.2 million garden composters have already been distributed in France
(Source: Ademe), vermicomposting is the only solution suitable for urban living: odorless, compact, simple, and accessible to all.
Ceercle to raise awareness of these issues among city dwellers by democratizing access to composting and gardening in our cities. As a fervent advocate of positive ecology, we support individuals, communities, and all companies committed to CSR by adapting to everyone's everyday practices.
