The terracotta in our composting garden retains moisture to prolong the watering of your plants.
Our Portuguese pottery partners apply a hydrophobic coating to maintain the original appearance of the kiln-fired pieces for as long as possible, and to avoid the risk of shattering due to frost in winter.

Everything you need to know about the vegetable composter
Rest assured, compost doesn't emit unpleasant odors. It even smells like undergrowth when it's well balanced. Odors usually arrive at the same time as the flies. The reason? Excessive humidity (not enough dry matter such as cardboard) and a lack of air encourage the appearance of flies and the fermentation responsible for unpleasant odors. By carefully balancing inputs, you can avoid this type of nuisance.
Thanks to our R&D efforts, we have been able to collect yield data by variety and season. A single tier of our Ceercle vegetable gardens Ceercle on average: – for the vegetable range: 3kg of lettuce, peas, Chinese cabbage, radishes, etc. – for the herb range: 800g of fresh herbs (parsley, coriander, chives, etc.) This means you can cook with 100% fresh ingredients that retain their flavor and nutrients! A real kitchen... on your balcony 🙂
As for worms, don't panic! These little creatures are very resilient, so leave them a good layer of food before you leave and they will manage for several weeks by regulating their population. As for watering, if you're going away for more than ten days, just like with your regular planters, there's nothing like a loyal friend to come and water them. The secret of compost is the balance between wet matter (peelings, coffee grounds...) and dry matter (cardboard, paper...). We often forget that cardboard is very important: it aerates the vermicompost, regulates humidity and makes a great bedding for the worms: that's where they reproduce. For better digestion of bio-waste, cut it into small pieces. Vermicompost is more efficient than compost, but also more sensitive. Avoid adding animal matter (milk, meat), fats (oil), citrus fruits and Alliaceae (garlic, onions, leeks, chives, etc.), which have vermifuge properties.
