Vervain, lemon balm, mint, chamomile and lemon thyme are all hardy plants! After planting, water them regularly (about once a week). Once well established, they are resistant to heat and drought. They only need occasional watering (except during heatwaves). They'll forgive you if you forget to water them, or if you go on vacation!
The aromatic plants in our herbal tea box are ideal for drying. Feel free to dry their leaves to preserve them for longer! Clean your aromatic herbs and dry them gently to remove excess water. Use string to tie 5 to 10 stems of your plant together to form bouquets. Hang the bouquets upside down in a dark, dry, well-ventilated room.Â
Ceercle tip: if you don't know how to hang your bouquets, you can use hangers or your clothes dryer đ
Drying will take a few days to two weeks, depending on the plant. If the leaves are slightly brittle to the touch, they are dry! For proper storage, place your dried herbs in airtight glass jars.
Our recipe: Lemongrass, thyme & lemon balm infusion
Pick fresh verbena, lemon balm and thyme leaves. This also works with dry leaves.
In a saucepan, add the leaves and half a liter of water.
Bring to the boil, then turn off the heat and leave to infuse for 3-4 minutes.
Filter the herbal tea. Add a dash of lemon juice and a teaspoon of honey.
Enjoy!
